Clarion Pointe El Cajon San Diego East

We were told they would still charge us for the six days left on our reservation, even after kicking us out. That tells me the owner is just as bad, and he owns both properties here, so be aware you may get the same treatment at either Choice Hotel. My 78-year-old mother had water dripping into her bathroom because kids were playing in the bathroom above her room. It left a slipping hazard, and management’s response was to toss down some towels, not enough to cover the floor. She nearly slipped and had to hold a towel over her head to keep from getting dripped on. Management, cleaning, and maintenance all suck. They kicked us out after we complained that there could have been a massive lawsuit if she’d fallen.

There’s one owner for two different CHOICE hotels across from each other on one large property, with each place offering different amenities, budgets, and tastes. They make security a priority by having the boys in blue patrol and protect guests instead of using regular security guards.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and they’ve done a good job updating this older motel-style building. Prices were decent, around average, and the woman at the front desk was fantastic, sweet, kind, and helpful. My one real gripe was the jacuzzi tub: the water pressure was terrible, and filling it took over two hours, no exaggeration. Aside from that, I enjoyed the room and the stay.

Brandy was the reason I had such a great stay at Clarion point. She was patient, really kind, and went out of her way to make sure I was happy and looked after. I’ll definitely stay here again.
