Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites El Reno by IHG

Johnny helped me get a much-needed night of rest. I was crossing the country alone, heading east, and had booked a place in OKC a few days earlier without checking its reviews. About 40 minutes from there, I finally read them and decided I wasn’t going. It was 10:30 at night, I was exhausted, and I came around a corner to a cluster of hotels. This one looked the cleanest and had the best lighting, so I parked out front and hoped they had a room. Johnny greeted me warmly when I went in, though he was helping other guests at first. Once it was my turn, he answered all my questions, put my concerns at ease, and booked me in quickly. I think that was his name. If the rest of the staff are like him, I’d highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee was fresh and hot. The woman running breakfast did a wonderful job keeping everything stocked. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the hotel was quiet. The staff were super nice, too. This was one of the best places we stayed during our family road trip. We’d absolutely stop here again on the way through and recommend it to anyone.

The room was huge and quiet, and the bed was insanely comfortable. It was mostly clean, though there was some hair left in a few spots. After more than 13 hours on the road, I really didn’t care. Breakfast had great choices, but the orange juice machine was down. We enjoyed our stay and will come back through in the Spring. We’d turned off the highway in OKC and felt pretty uncomfortable with the area and the poor service we got elsewhere, so we looked farther along our route and found this hotel. The older desk agent with long gray hair and glasses, whose name I wish I’d written down, was a delight to deal with. We called and he got us the last room that night. Management, please give this man a raise. He’s a real gem!

We had a good stay here earlier in our family trip, so we tried to book a room again on the way back. The hotel had no power, but the front desk staff still let us check in. We carried everything up to the fourth floor, then learned the power might take several hours to come back. We should’ve been told before heading up a very dark staircase. I’d rate the customer service negative 10.
