Holiday Inn Express & Suites - South Bend Casino by IHG

I drove two hours with my daughter for her dance competition and had a pleasant check-in. But as she went to check the bathroom, she stepped in a puddle in front of the refrigerator and nearly slipped. I was worried about her safety and told the front desk. They were fully booked, the cleaning staff had left for the night, and no sister hotels had rooms available. The desk clerk called her manager, but couldn’t say until morning whether I’d get a discount. For now, all she could offer was points. I also told her the phone didn’t work and we had no bath towels. It wasn’t a pleasant stay, and I wasn’t happy with the room. Thank you to the night front desk lady for trying to make things better.

Theresa was so kind at check-in and got us in early. She also signed us up for the honors program so we can start earning points. She made our weekend trip start off right. I wish all hotel staff were this friendly and accommodating!

We checked in on Saturday afternoon, April 25th, 2026, and the staff were pleasant and communicative. Check-in was quick, and our room was clean and beautiful. After taking our two-year-old daughter to the pool, we went upstairs to bathe her, and an incident in the bathroom could have caused a serious injury or worse. Teresa Echevarria and Yami were very helpful and understanding, and handled the issue professionally. At checkout, after we’d had a very good breakfast, Teresa was still there and said how glad she was nothing serious had happened. These two ladies are A1 employees. Whenever I’m in the South Bend area, this is where I’ll stay.

I booked a room online on April 29th, but when I arrived, the woman said the room I’d reserved wasn’t open and automatically charged my account for a higher-priced one. Check-out was only 11 hours away, so I declined and said I’d sleep in my car. Their mistake left a pending charge on my account, and I still hadn’t gotten my money back after 26 days. I don’t see how that’s right or fair. I’ll never stay at or even try to stay at a Holiday Inn Express again.
