At about $50 a night, I thought this was a steal for this town. Other nearby hotels were either much more expensive or very low quality for the same price. The room layout worked, the bed was comfortable, and all the appliances technically worked during my six-day stay. But the website’s promises of free WiFi and continental breakfast didn’t match what I found. There was no breakfast at all, not even coffee, and no coffee maker in the room. I made noodles in the microwave, but it seemed underpowered and only got them semi-hot. The Wi-Fi was the biggest problem. My computer connects fine elsewhere, but here I kept getting errors even on basic sites like Amazon or Rooms To Go. I couldn’t get my work done, and when I tried free Wi-Fi at other public places, my computer worked perfectly, so the hotel network seemed to be the issue. I managed only minimal work during my stay. I’d rather book online next time. If the advertised Wi-Fi and breakfast were actually available, this would be a much better value.

Jay and the team at Econo Lodge Elberton made a stressful situation much easier. A colleague and I were stuck in town during a winter storm, and Jay picked up right away, confirmed a room was available, and reminded us to be safe on the roads. We really appreciated the hospitality while waiting for conditions to improve. It’s the kind of service you hope for when travel plans go sideways. I’d absolutely recommend it if you’re passing through.

The room was inexpensive, so if you just need somewhere to crash while driving through and these things don’t matter, it’s not the worst. The beds were clean, but the bathroom had quite a few spiders and the bathtub was dirty. The tub stopper was broken, so I couldn’t take a bath. The fridge didn’t work, the mirror was broken, and the room looked like it had been quickly put together during a minor renovation. The walls are thin.

For the money, this was the best deal in Elberton. I stayed October 25-26, and Jay went above and beyond to make it a great stay by putting the gifts I’d brought for my fiancé in the room before I arrived. My fiancé was so happy and surprised. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the towels were good and thick. No issues at all. Thanks, Jay!

Jay at the front desk was very accommodating. I arrived quite early, and he let me check in anyway. I had a couple of room issues when I got there, but Jay handled them smoothly and took care of me. Thanks very much, Jay!
