Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery

The bar area was nice, with a pleasant bartender and interesting memorabilia. The French onion soup and crab dip were very good. I was let down by the $12 Caesar salad, though. The menu listed romaine, capers, croutons, and Caesar dressing, but mine came with iceberg lettuce. It would've been much better with the traditional romaine.

The appetizers were good, but we waited an hour for them and had to ask for silverware, plates, and napkins. The entrees arrived another hour later, cold. My loaded baked potato had no butter, and I had to cut the steak with a butter knife. The atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for it. This is the third time we've had this experience, so we're not going back. Our family spent a lot of money and left very dissatisfied.

Derrick and Kristine went above and beyond to meet every request for my wedding. The food was great, the cake delicious, and the flowers were some of the most beautiful arrangements I've seen. It was such a wonderful experience. I thoroughly recommend having your wedding at Cape Fear!

We spent two lovely days in a beautiful, modern little cabin with our dogs. I loved the bathroom, and the cabin was right by the entrance to Tory Hole Park, where we did lots of trail walking. Feeding and petting the donkeys, small horses, a lama, a shy kangaroo, and cats was right up my alley. My dogs loved it too. We caught a glimpse of a beautiful peacock protected by the cats. The gift shop was neat, and we chatted with a lovely woman from PA whose name I sadly forgot. We also talked with Scarlett, a beautiful red Parrot. Everyone at the restaurant was nice, and the chef was especially kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to make me a vegetarian dish. We'll visit again.
