Comfort Suites Elizabethtown

The breakfast was terrible, and I couldn't even eat the cereal. The pool is small, the hallways were freezing, and the rooms are dated. For the same price, I could've stayed at the Hamtons or Holiday in. This hotel definitely doesn't compare to Hamtons, and you don't get luxury for the luxury price. I booked because the pictures showed a pool and hot tub, but the pictures seem outdated. There's a spot where the hot tub used to be, now filled with cement, so they don't have one anymore. Don't book if you want a hot tub. They need to update their site because people book expecting one. So disappointing. I'd avoid this hotel and spend my money elsewhere.

The bed was firm but comfortable, and the room was quiet and clean. Staff were helpful and accommodating, and I'll stay again. My only complaint is the shower curtain rod. It's U-shaped to give you more width in the shower, but it's tilted down, so the curtain keeps needing to be adjusted to stop it pooling in the middle and letting water flood the bathroom. They also put it halfway into the shower stall instead of at the edge of the tub and stall, which defeats the purpose of the shape. Ask for extra towels so you don't have to step onto the slippery wet floor.

The room was clean, the bed was nice, there were plenty of pillows, and I loved how spacious it was. The woman who checked me in was lovely. I'd driven all night trying to beat the snowstorm and arrived around 3:30 a.m. I asked about checkout, and when she said 11, I grimaced. She offered to extend it to noon if that would help, so I gratefully accepted. I missed breakfast when I woke around 10:30, but that was fine. I just wanted coffee, a shower, and to leave at noon. At 11:13, someone knocked and said, “Front desk. We need you out. It's 11:13.” I explained that I'd been offered checkout at noon, but she loudly told me, “Oh no. No. Absolutely NOT. We have 4 rooms only and housekeeping needs that room NOW. We need you out!” She spoke in the hall in a sardonic tone, like I was a misbehaving child. I don't expect lavish service, but basic civility would've been nice. I got dressed and packed, without taking a shower, then went to the desk. The woman there appeared to be faking a phone call and wouldn't acknowledge me waiting. I left. I don't know either woman's name. The first had long blonde hair; the other had long straight brown hair. This was Saturday morning the 24th. If she'd spoken to me with respect and discretion, I wouldn't be writing this. I could've accepted losing the noon checkout if it had been handled well. I chose this hotel because of its good reviews, though there are many competitors at that exit, all hotels. That employee and I hadn't interacted before. I wanted to share this in case the owners read these reviews.

I was traveling from Ohio to Texas and have some mobility issues because of spine surgeries. The ADA room was spacious, spotless, and affordable. Lamar was so kind and went above and beyond to help me.
