Econo Lodge

For $49, it was well worth it. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and check-in went well. The woman there was very nice. There's no breakfast anymore, and no coffee in the room, which sucked. The covered interior is nice, but you can hear every sound from the next room.

This place was awful. It was run-down, very old, and badly in need of major renovations. Our friend's room had lamps, a coffee maker, and other things, but ours had just one ceiling light by the front door, no coffee maker or cups, and only one towel. There was plenty of soap but no washcloths. They advertised free breakfast, but didn't offer it when we arrived. The person trying to check us in seemed to have no idea what she was doing, and I was pretty sure she was too young to be working. A couple of hours later, the actual manager came to our room to collect payment and apologized, saying they'd had to leave town and put someone else at the desk. Avoid this hotel, and really, avoid stopping in this town altogether!

It's a budget hotel, not a Marriott, but we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with nothing wrong that we noticed. The building itself is really interesting, and the front desk staff were friendly. There isn't an ice machine, but they do offer small bags of ice, which I appreciated.

My husband and I have never stayed at a better economy lodge. We had a wonderful night's sleep and a lovely late stay before heading out. The place was perfectly clean, and everything was in decent order. Matthew, the guy behind the desk, was the nicest person I've dealt with in many years. I highly recommend this place.
