Tivoli Inn & Suites

We arrived at the last minute, and the staff were able to fit us in. The people at the desk were kind and understanding, and our room was nice and clean. The bathroom needed more attention, though: there was hair in the tub and an opened soap left in the shower. We liked having a microwave and mini fridge, and breakfast was typical. The pool was closed for maintenance, which was a downside, but the hotel is in a cute town. I’d recommend staying here.

The staff I met were really friendly, and the clean, comfortable beds and linens made for a good stay while we visited family. There was some dirt and a few small pebbles by the bed frame when we arrived, so the room could have used a little tidying, but it wasn’t a big deal. Breakfast was a basic continental spread of bread, cereal, yogurt, and juice. Nothing special, as expected, and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ll likely stay here again.

The whirlpool bath was the one thing I liked about the Copenhagen suite. The rest left us very disappointed on this return visit, after staying here several years ago under different management. The pool was broken when we arrived, and the carpet had stains in several places. The toilet leaked onto the bathroom floor, the fixtures looked dull and in need of a deep clean, and the mirror above the sink was chipped all along the bottom. At 11 pm we had to call the front desk because around 35 or more guests were drinking beer and being loud and obnoxious at a party in the parking lot right under our window. It went on for several hours, so we had a restless night. Breakfast in the lobby was an average continental meal. The waffle maker and fresh fruit we’d had on earlier visits weren’t available this time. At $135, the stay felt way overpriced. We won’t be back.

We paid $334.00 for two nights and just wanted a room, not to buy this wretched place. The pool had no water and was being used for storage. There was a coffee maker in the room but no coffee, and neither a phone book nor instructions on the phone for getting help. The carpet was stained, the place smelled musty, and everything felt old and tired. The bathroom could have used a visit from Mr. Clean. AWFUL! It makes the Bate's Motel look like a day at the beach. One star feels generous, it should be rated minus 10. Never again will I darken this place’s doors. “Run Forrest, Run!”
