Breakfast was hot and filling, with eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and waffles, plus breads, cereal, and yogurt. My son and I were traveling east, and the room and beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and invigorating. The sink stopper was loose and didn’t work as it should, but the AC, lights, TV, and refrigerator all worked fine.
We needed somewhere at the last minute for our large group, with lots of kids, and the three queen room fit us well. There was good availability, and the gentleman took good care of us. The rooms were a little dirty, but fine for what we paid. He was kind and hospitable, and even made sure there’d be enough breakfast for our group in the morning. Great prices and a good experience.
The place was dirty, with cigarette butts everywhere, and I wouldn’t recommend staying there. Choice Hotels booked me here after I couldn’t get my reserved room at another Choice property, the Rodeway Inn. I walked 1.8 miles because there was no shuttle. Then the smoke alarm in my room kept chirping. The front desk guy asked whether I wanted a new battery or another room, seriously? I switched rooms and tried to sleep before leaving in the morning. At checkout, I saw I’d been charged full price. I’d confirmed my reservation with the Rodeway Inn front desk and asked about a shuttle, only to be told there wasn’t one at all. I’d hoped for some leeway on the cost after how badly Choice treated me, but that was my mistake. I appreciate the quick reply, but how am I supposed to contact you directly? When I called, the person who answered didn’t even know the owner, and your canned response gave me no contact details. Maybe that’s part of the problem, the communication is terrible. I’ve had good luck at Comfort Inns, and I’ll review one soon.
The laundry machines came in really handy after we unexpectedly had to extend our stay three times. The manager was great and very understanding each time. I had my son with me and can get nervous about staying around lots of strangers, but I felt completely safe there. Breakfast was good too. Really good for the price.
I’ve been staying here for work for 15 years, and the hotel has had new management for the past year. I’ve had no complaints. The new team are friendly and focused on customer service, and my usual king suite is always very clean. If I need anything, I just ask. I’ve had a good experience under the new management and would recommend the hotel if you need a place in Elko. The rates are competitive with other hotels, and you get more for your money.
