Shutters Hotel

The breakfast was delicious both mornings, and the hotel was clean, with the TV, microwave, and fridge all working. Everyone was nice and helpful, and it was a great place to stay with kids while we were in town for my son's football tournament. We'd only reserved one night, then found out at the last minute that we needed another. The hotel was nearly booked and couldn't simply extend us, so at first we were told we might need to check out, wait until the afternoon, and possibly move rooms. We understood that we should have booked two nights, but with so much stuff to manage, moving everything would have been a hassle. The morning staff gentleman saw what the night person had arranged and patiently checked us out and right back in, letting us keep the same room. Definitely recommend this place.

The rooms were clean, though the bathrooms had old-style showers. The rest of our transit stay was a big letdown. Staff at both the front desk and dining area were so unfriendly they didn't even greet us, and nobody seemed to care what we wanted. Breakfast was especially disappointing for vegetarians: just bread and bagels, no pancakes, waffles, or oats, and the coffee was horrible. We chose this place based on other people's reviews. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

We’re locals and stopped in for lunch. The brisket chili burgers were cooked just right by Chef Meghan, and Nonie was an excellent server. The fries were great too, especially with the ranch dressing.

Nonie at The Burger House was quick with drink refills and attentive the whole time. Easily one of the best servers I've had in Elko. I'll definitely be back.
