Motel 6 Elkton, MD

Cockroaches were in the bathtub and on the walls as soon as I walked into the room. I called the front desk right away to ask for a refund, and they came to inspect it as if I might have caused the mess. I'm pretty sure the bugs managed that themselves. I was told a refund would take 10 days, though taking the money from my account took 30 seconds. They then offered me a stay on a later date, which wasn't acceptable either. The receptionist said she'd worked there for three years, stayed there herself, and that the problem had always been there. How can they rent rooms knowing guests could take bugs home? Completely disgusting. If I could give less than one star, I would. Don't stay here.

The reservation was for one night while we visited family. My Mom had booked it, but when we reached the room I spotted a roach climbing the bathroom wall almost immediately. I filmed it and called the front desk to say we couldn't stay and wanted a refund. The woman there said she needed to inspect the room, even though we'd been inside for under five minutes and hadn't touched anything. She said it was fine, then told us to come to the desk. The owner approved a full refund, but said it had to go through the reservation phone number. The same employee told us they'd had a roach problem for three years. When we called, they offered a voucher for another stay instead of returning the money. No chance we'd stay there again. The bugs and the way they handled it were disgusting, and I don't recommend Motel 6 in Elkton.

Tiffany at the front desk was kind and made check-in really easy. I just needed a place for the night on my way home with my dog, so being able to bring pets was a big plus. Thanks for helping me out!

The staff are all so friendly and helpful, and they really accommodate you. I keep choosing this place over the other motels and hotels around here, and I recommend it. 😊👍
