Woodspring Suites Loves Park Rockford

Even with a reservation, I couldn't check in because the front desk wasn't staffed after 10 pm. I waited more than 30 minutes for the staff member on the after-hours phone line to come help, but no one showed up. When we finally reached someone by calling from another phone, they wouldn't assist with check-in and seemed possibly high. They couldn't or wouldn't communicate with us. We eventually gave up and found another hotel. Before that, we spent another hour stuck on the phone with the parent company, Choice, and got no help.

This place is busy and loud, with lots of long-term tenants, so for a short stay I'd go elsewhere. We were there about a week and were treated like tenants. There are some good points: a nice kitchenette, a nice laundry room, a small but clean gym, and it's inexpensive and close enough to walk to fast food. The elevator broke while we were there, but was fixed within a day. One woman was welcoming and friendly, the other wasn't so much, though I'm sure you can figure out who. The downsides were poor Wi-Fi, terrible water pressure, and showers that weren't always very hot. My room had a strange smell like a hospital cafeteria, and my toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned. I found pubes from the last person, a booger on the shower wall, leftovers on the toilet seat, and dried pee on the rim. I cleaned it myself. Overall, it wasn't a bad place, just a mix of pros and cons. Give it a try or don't.

I'll never rent from wood springs again. The tall black guy with dreads told me they'd rented out my room without calling to find out whether I was coming. Then he told me to leave, figure things out somewhere else, and kicked me out. The service was the worst.

We stayed for two months, my husband and I, and had an excellent experience. The service was very good, and the cleaning staff did an impeccable job. Lorenzo at reception was especially friendly and attentive, always in a good mood, which made our stay even better. Thanks for the good service. We'd definitely stay here again.
