The room was clean, nicely decorated, and not bad overall, but there were several things that could be improved. I booked two queen beds, but one was definitely smaller than a queen and rock hard. The other was okay, though it felt like the edges sagged while the middle stayed hard. The only soap was a 3-in-1 body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Ew. This is an unmanned hotel, which is fine, and they text you the door code. But the residential-style combination locks don't work well for a hotel: you have to be careful to close and lock the door yourself, since it won't swing shut or lock automatically. The TVs were small, far away, and used Roku, so you needed to sign into a streaming service to watch anything. Previous guests were still logged into several apps, and the hotel doesn't log them out at checkout. I was annoyed from the booking call onward. I didn't understand the pet fees, and the person on the phone kept telling me to book online. Since I was already calling, they should have booked it as I asked instead of acting like it was a bother.

The hosts communicated well and responded quickly when we needed something. The place was freshly renovated and looked so modern. It was convenient and clean, and we'll stay again. We didn't get to try the massage chairs or sauna, but they looked nice.

I thought it was good value, and I'd stay again since Thermopolis doesn't have many better options. The inn is cute, the bathroom had nice hot water, and I liked the western touches in the room. My boyfriend and I especially enjoyed the massage chairs in the new spa room. The bedding was the letdown. The big, firm pillows and the mattress made for a restless night. It felt firm and cheap but sagged in the middle. I had to use the massage chairs to work out the neck kinks from the bed and pillows. Better bedding and mattress, plus something other than the 3-in-1 shampoo, body wash, and conditioner in the shower, would make this a five-star stay.

We had a relaxing day at the mineral pool, and the sauna and massage chairs were a great extra. The rooms were clean and looked nice. I'd definitely recommend Elk Antler Inn if you're staying in thermopolis WY.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and we only had to text if we needed anything. Our room was clean and updated, with cute decor that made it feel comfortable and homey. We had a wonderful overnight stay.
