Best Western Plus Lincoln Inn & Suites

My wife came to Ellensburg for the weekend to visit a friend. After housekeeping cleaned her room, they left the door wide open all day. Coming back after spending the day out to find it like that felt incredibly unsafe. Someone could have stolen or tampered with her belongings. Management barely apologized and had nothing useful to say. It was an unacceptable experience. Don’t stay here.

There’s a grassy spot for pets and an outdoor seating area with two built-in BBQs, and the property seems well kept. Several fast food places and Redhouse Grill are within walking distance. Breakfast comes with the room. Our spacious room had two queen beds, a couch, desk, dresser, TV, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and hair dryer. The windows slid open, though ours faced the roof over the pool.

We picked this place for a snowy weekend near Suncadia, mainly because we wanted to use the hot tub. That was closed when we got back after a long day, and the indoor pool was cold. We’d even persuaded friends to book there for the hot tub. Nobody at the desk offered us an alternative. Later I saw a dehumidifier in the hallway, and the pool area was still shut. Our room was nearest to it, and when we packed up, we found water from the leak had soaked our clothes. Our tubs kept the snow gear dry, thankfully. The bathtub in our room was visibly dirty on arrival. I asked the young woman at the front desk for a cleaner so I could do it myself since she said they were short staffed. We went out for a few hours, but came back to a cleaning smell and a tub that was still dirty. I asked her again for Dawn and cleaned it myself. The next morning there wasn’t any coffee at breakfast, so we went to a local coffee shop. We had a great time at Suncadia, but contacting Best Western afterward was disappointing. They didn’t seem to care because we’d booked through Expedia. After waiting days for a call, I was basically told the property’s response was “oh well.” I chose them because of Best Western’s reputation, but I don’t think we’ll return for another snow weekend.

The room had an overpowering musty, humid smell. When we showered, I saw mold covering the bathroom ceiling and walls. The windows only opened about an inch, so airing it out didn’t help. The pool area and water were clean, and the hot tub was hot. The staff were sweet and attentive. Breakfast had an interactive attendant who kept the area tidy. Parking was good, and the hotel itself was in clean, good condition.
