The Allen House

Loved the outdoor spare cabin, and the dog-friendly setup was perfect. The lodge is also in a great spot for walking to shops and places to eat. The upgrades were done nicely, and the showers had strong pressure and plenty of hot water, though they're small and have no shelves or lighting. The back firepit needs attention. There were springs and nails around the mattress, and a rusty nail went through my shoe when I stepped on it. Thankfully my tetanus shot was up to date. I was also bummed that the hot tub was dirty and foaming.

Mike and Jess were friendly and accommodating when I had to cancel at the last minute for Jan 1-4. They gave us full credit toward our Feb 12-15 stay and were very responsive. Five stars! We loved room 102 at The Timberline Lodge. It had two spacious rooms, four full-size beds, and two nice TVs. There's a mini fridge in the room, plus a shared living room with a full fridge, microwave, couches, and a huge TV. They're replacing the beds with new foam ones. I slept on one and it was amazing. Two others were newer and very nice, though not foam. One old bed we didn't use needs replacing soon. I saw two new bowed foam mattresses arrive as we checked out, so management seems to be working on improvements.

The lodge is clean, comfortable, and in a handy spot for walking to town and its attractions. Even with no one at the lodge in person, the vending machine, shared refrigerator, and gum and candy machine were useful. The room was clean, though it could use better stocked basics, like soap. Quiet can be hard to come by because there's little insulation, and even someone talking can wake you. The basement and main level rooms don't seem as nice and feel overcrowded, so I'd try for an upper level room. I would recommend staying here, but keep in mind that peace and quiet may be hard to find, especially at busy times.

The wall art was cool, and you could see the effort put into the place. Our room was clean and well kept, and the bed was really comfortable. We had a nice stay and will come back.
