Rodeway Inn

The room seemed clean and presentable at first, but my husband always checks for roaches and bed bugs. Under the mattress, on top of the box spring, we found a tick, mouse droppings, and a dead dried-up bug that we thought might be a cockroach. We were there for two minutes before leaving. They refunded us without hesitation when we asked, almost as if they already knew about the problem.

The clerk didn't make an issue of our refund request, and the staff seem to be trying. Still, the room felt filthy in person, even though it might look clean in a photo. There was trash in the bin, dirt in every corner, and the surfaces looked barely wiped. The beds were completely worn out. As soon as we came in, my dog started sniffing around intensely, like he does when we're hunting for my quarry. I'd suggest checking the room before paying.

The rooms weren't very clean, though we didn't find any bugs, which was the only good thing I can say. There’s also a pretty nasty-looking strip club right next to the hotel, and prostitutes at the Pilot next door. Worse, they charged our account three times. We eventually got our money back a week later, but we were traveling 2300 miles and two of the attempted charges stayed on hold for that whole week. It left us broke and nearly unable to get home. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We stayed two nights, and when we came back, the room hadn't been cleaned. There were no fresh towels or coffee refills, and maid service never showed up that day. Silverfish were in the breakfast area, and there was food crusted onto the table. Our non-smoking room also smelled of cigarette smoke coming through the bathroom vent. We had to keep the vent running the whole time and the bathroom door shut to control the smell.
