Extended Stay America Suites Chicago Elmhurst O'Hare

I’m a trucker and needed to do laundry so I could shower and put on clean clothes. The machines wouldn’t take payment from any of my cards. I’d already put clothes and liquid soap in one, but when I told the night staff something was wrong, he said to wait for the morning crew. It was 3:30 am, and they wouldn’t arrive until 7. Someone took my clothes out and put theirs in. The machine had an error code and standing water when I opened it, so I unplugged it. I waited hours for the issue to be sorted, and nobody seemed to care. I bet they did when I unplugged it!

This place is so old and run down that the price is a joke. The shower was ancient, and all I got was one bar of soap. Breakfast was basically nonexistent, just a granola bar. It should cost what a Motel 6 does, or even less.

Both of the two rooms we got were disgusting. There were cockroaches in one bathroom and rat droppings in drawers in the other room. The hallways and elevator smelled like Marijuana too. We left after only a few hours and asked for a refund. We were supposed to stay 13 nights, but booked somewhere else.

We’ve been here since March, and while the staff are great and the place is mostly accommodating and pet friendly, I can’t recommend it anymore. If you don’t pay well ahead for the entire reservation, they give you a five-day eviction notice. Apparently, too many notices mean they won’t renew your reservation. We’ve had steady income and have always paid, though we’ve fallen behind a couple of times and haven’t always paid in advance. That shouldn’t be a reason to refuse renewal. Because of this, we might end up homeless. Keep it in mind and be cautious when making a reservation. They’re a money-hungry corporation that can’t see past someone being behind once in a while.
