Acorn Inn

Elon has a charming, quaint feel, and its University location is part of that. I stayed three nights and really enjoyed the wine tasting. The room was lovely, and everyone was so friendly I felt as if I’d known them for ages. I’ll definitely visit again.

Even with the COVID restrictions still in place when we arrived, this was a perfect stay. We couldn’t mingle, meet other guests, or share breakfast and wine, but the room itself was wonderful. It had a fireplace, a small kitchenette, and a hallway leading to the bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the sheets were so soft. There was a porch inside and outside, both worth seeing. Wine glasses, an opener, and a bottle of wine for purchase were waiting in the room. It felt like stepping into someone else’s much nicer life. The sweetest little inn I’ve stayed at in the United States.

We had breakfast with friendly staff, who gave us a nice feel for the community my son may be living in. The neat, clean rooms felt inviting, and the two-bedroom suite gave my son, his friend, and me plenty of room. I found this place on the Elon University website while looking for somewhere to stay during our school tour. I’d love to return with my husband and a less packed schedule, so I can enjoy the afternoon wine and cheese tasting.

I first started staying at the Acorn Inn in 2018, when my daughter began her freshman year at Elon University, and it’s become one of the best parts of my visits. It feels like a home away from home, with clean, cozy rooms and thoughtful touches that have you booking the next trip before you leave. Sherrie Linton deserves a special thank you. Even when she has a lot going on at the Inn, she makes guests feel special and part of the Acorn Inn family. She’s a true Southern gem, professional and so charming. I’m looking forward to ending my time as an Elon parent in May 2022 at my favorite place, and I’ll keep spreading the word about this lovely inn.
