Capri Motel By OYO Elwood, Wathena

I stayed here for three months since my job was just around the corner, lol. The owner is about the best host you could ask for, and the place was clean with no bugs, which is a big plus for me. It’s very dog friendly. I just don’t think he likes killer.

It’s quiet here, and nothing out of the way has happened while I’ve been staying. The place has a homey feel, almost like having your own bedroom. The guy who runs it is understanding and never rude. If you’re short on money, he’ll try to work things out with you instead of putting you out on the street. I appreciate the clean room, the affordable price, and the good customer service. Thank you to the owner for reminding me there are still good people with heart.

The owner was very nice, and the room only cost $65, but I can’t believe the 5-star reviews are real. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, there was pee all over the toilet, and a dirty towel was on the floor. The heat didn’t come on until around 4 am, when it suddenly roared to life. There was just one ceiling light, no lamps, nightstands, or headboard, and the bed was basically a mattress wrapped in plastic under the sheets. The thin curtains didn’t cover the whole window. Seriously, move on and pick somewhere else.

The service was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were in excellent shape and very clean. Despite the craziness mentioned in earlier reviews, I’d stay here again if I came through.
