Copper Queen Hotel and Casino

We stayed for two days over Valentine’s Day, and we’ll be back again and again. The whole place is so clean, the rooms are great, and JTs Restaurant is awesome. The bacon is the bomb! The pub is cute and friendly, and the hotel staff are helpful and really nice to talk with about Ely and the surrounding area. They also have drawings on Saturdays, and my wife and I won!

The room was very clean, and we really liked it. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and there was a large mini fridge, microwave, plus complimentary cookies, bottled water, and tea supplies. The casino area can get noisy at night, so I wore earplugs, though I do that at every hotel. Breakfast isn’t free, but the hotel provides a $4-per-person food voucher. My family enjoyed the restaurant’s kids menu, and breakfast was a hit. I’d stay here again.

The in-house pub has a small menu but a nice range of choices, and it served one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The rooms are very clean and nice. Even though the hotel wraps around a small casino, you’d never know it from inside the room. It’s quiet and low-key.

The downstairs rooms aren’t very soundproof, so you can hear the slot machines and people talking. I also found the mini restaurant pricey, with a single steak costing $43. Still, I think this is a really good hotel in Ely. There’s free water, soda, and coffee, plus an indoor pool and a fairly sized casino. Update: We left a pillow behind and had to come back for it. They held onto it, and we got it back. Thank you.
