Holiday Inn Express & Suites Elyria by IHG

Easy to get to, right off 80 & 90, and breakfast was great before checkout. The selection was nice, everything stayed clean and well stocked, and the woman running breakfast was so kind to everyone. The whole hotel smelled fresh as soon as you walked in, and the room was just as clean. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, and I loved the Dove bathroom products. You can tell management takes pride in the place. I’d recommend it and stay again.

Traveling with my 87 year-old aunt, who has mobility issues, and the accommodations worked perfectly for her. We were passing through Ohio on a road trip to the East Coast, and I don’t visit often, so I may not get the chance to return. But if I do, I’d stay here in a heartbeat. The room was quiet and clean, and we slept great. Check-in and checkout were both smooth, the staff were exceptional, and the breakfast buffet had a fantastic selection. The women keeping it up did a wonderful job and kept everything clean. 100% recommend!

The coffee was freshly ground, and breakfast exceeded what I expected. The hotel was very clean, and the friendly staff made sure our needs were met and we were well looked after.

My five nights in Elyria were mostly fine: the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and it was quiet. I’ve stayed at several Holiday Inns and usually had good experiences, which is why I picked this one. But when I called the desk today to politely request a late checkout, the person who answered was rude and immediately refused because I’d booked through a third party. I only wanted 30 extra minutes, which seemed like a reasonable ask. I paid like any other guest and received nothing free. I could have stayed elsewhere, but chose Holiday Inn because I trusted the brand. IHG’s policy says late checkout depends on availability and should be offered to all IHG One Rewards members regardless of booking source, but that wasn’t honored. That attitude spoiled the experience. I hope customer service improves. I would have gladly returned, but now I’ll think twice.
