The setting at Snowflower is what makes it such a peaceful escape: trees, fresh air, and a beautiful campground where we can relax for a few days. We've had great stays and always look forward to coming back. Collette and the team are kind, helpful, and welcoming, and go above and beyond to make guests feel cared for. We appreciate how much effort they put into keeping everything running smoothly, especially on busy weekends. Snowflower has become a special place for us, and I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing camping getaway.

The cabin is fantastic and clean, with towels, sheets, pillows, shampoo, utensils, and dishes provided. It's a bit small, but definitely big enough, and in the forest you'll probably be outside anyway. Check-in went smoothly. We used to camp here years ago and found the staff weren't very nice then, but these guys were awesome!

We took the paddle boards out on the amazing lake for hours, and the lodge had plenty to keep little ones busy, plus a pool table and ping-pong table. We rented a very spacious, neat cottage for Memorial Day weekend with my wife and kid. Collette and James treated us like family as soon as we arrived. I'll definitely be back soon and would recommend a weekend here for families. Thanks to James, Collette, and the staff. See you soon!

If you end up assigned to Tahoe or Sierra in the distant upper loops, the lake is about a 25 minute walk away. You won't find out your assigned site until arrival, since reservations are no longer first come, first served. To me, those loops are so far from Snowflower's resort features they shouldn't even count as part of Snowflower. Thousand Trails should make them a separate campground. The policy is awful. If you're near the lake, though, Snowflower is a nice place to camp.

We cut our trip short after the mess with our site assignments, and booked somewhere else for the next trip. I didn't pursue a refund because I couldn't deal with that level of incompetence. I can't say enough bad things about this place. Seven other families and mine took time off work for a Wednesday-to-Wednesday camping trip. We'd done this for years because we knew it was the only way to stay together at a first come first serve campground. We all had reservations, but on arrival were told our spaces were assigned under a changed policy nobody had told us about. Our sites were at opposite ends of the campground, nowhere near each other. Being together was the whole point of bringing eight families. My assigned site wouldn't fit my trailer, so they gave me another one. After I'd brought the trailer in, set up, and settled the kids, my brother arrived and said it was his spot. We went back to the front desk, but a note on the door said staff would be back in an hour. Our friends and family kept arriving, understandably upset. When the staff member showed up, he told us to stop whining because it was a beautiful day. He said I could take my old spot back or call for a refund tomorrow, since the refund wasn't his job. I went back to the old site, cut down a tree, and spent an hour with two guys and two shovels fixing the approach angle so I could back in my trailer. Three hours later, I had the site set up again. Coordinating meals and time together was a nightmare, with eight families, almost all with small babies, having to walk 1/2 mile every time. The staff's rudeness was uncalled for. Sixteen people took time off work, and we didn't even get an email about the change. That's insanely unfair. I don't understand how staff at any establishment could be so rude.
