Tina really made the stay for us. She was so welcoming, and every time we talked with her, she was helpful with our questions and just lovely to deal with. The lodge is right in the middle of everything, with plenty to see nearby. Our room was spacious and clean, and the fireplace made it feel warm and cozy. The gift shop is large, and the restaurant is easy to get to. Breakfast had a somewhat limited menu, but the food was tasty and the portions were generous. I’d go for the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The gravy had big pieces of sausage, and the bacon was perfect. We were there last weekend and had a really good time.

The park itself is beautiful, but staying here this past week was a letdown. The cabin felt overpriced for what it offered. When I arrived, I had to empty the dishwasher myself. There was also a hole in the front door that let bugs in, and the back deck was covered with dirt and dead bugs.

We caught sight of the wild horses on both days, and the river views made the area especially beautiful. There’s a big fire pit for evenings beneath the stars. The rooms had balconies and comfortable beds, though ours could have used a thorough cleaning. We also had a very good dinner at the restaurant.

The Christmas concert was fantastic, and the restaurant server was really sweet. The food was good, though I would have liked a few more choices. We had a nice time with our friends. The lodge itself is beautiful, and I loved having a fireplace in the room. I’d have rated it five stars if the bed and pillows weren’t so firm. They both need replacing.

Even with the place at full occupancy, the whole area felt peaceful and quiet. The scenery is spectacular, there are several hiking trails, and the restaurant on the grounds is great. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
