Room 105 was one of the worst rooms I’ve ever had. There was no seal around the door, which I suppose is how the bugs got inside. Highway traffic came through clearly, and I could hear people walking around in the room above me just as clearly. The bathroom exhaust fan was incredibly loud. What a dump. You’d be better off sleeping in your car.
The service was awful, and the motel was in bad shape. After I reported the problems and asked to cancel, the front desk told me to talk to the manager, said they couldn’t help, and hurried me out. I’d booked a non-smoking room, but the first room I was assigned hadn’t been cleaned at all: unmade bed, used towels on the bathroom floor, and a full trash can. It was a smoking room, too. The lobby bathroom should’ve been a warning, with dirty floors and a broken toilet paper dispenser. I asked for a clean non-smoking room and was told the next one would be fine. It was also a smoking room and dirty. At least its bed was made, but the handle was covered in some strange substance and the room smelled horrible. I booked one night at the Days Inn at this location, after driving for 10 hours during my road trip. According to a brochure in the Wyndham room where I stayed during the first half of my trip, sheets and pillows are only changed every other day. Don’t stay here.
For the price and location, I thought it was worth it. I only stayed one night and had no problems. It’s a hotel, and you’re there to stay, then leave. If you want the best, pay more and stay somewhere nicer. I’ve been in worse hotels than this.
The room itself was fine, but the motel was dirty and run down. We couldn’t use the only working ice machine because the room it was in closed at 10:00. In the morning, housekeeping walked into our room without knocking. When we first arrived, nobody was at the desk. I called the hotel, and an attendant finally showed up ten minutes later. She said she wished she could do all the jobs she had to do. It seemed like checking in tired guests ought to be the priority. This place felt overpriced, understaffed, and unprepared, and didn’t meet basic hospitality standards. Don’t stay here.
I never even got to use the room. I tried calling three times during my drive from NH to NC, across one day and into the next, because I needed help with a late check-in. No one picked up. When I finally reached somebody, they said I was a no-show, so I ended up staying somewhere else. The staff were rude, too. Worst experience ever.
