My friends and I had a great stay. The room was just right, the staff were welcoming, and breakfast was delicious and free. The view from our room was beautiful too. It’s a short walk to Leavenworth’s main attractions, manageable even in rain or snow.

The front desk accused us of turning down a room that had never been offered, then called us liars. Their manner became hostile and dismissive, and the whole exchange felt completely unprofessional. We’d arrived before check-in and were told to come back because the rooms weren’t clean. When we returned, we learned housekeeping hadn’t even started because staff hadn’t communicated. We waited again and tried to be understanding, but the staff later changed their story. They said we could leave and pay for the room that was available after check-in, or stay and pay full price for both rooms even though they weren’t ready until around 6 PM. We chose to leave on principle and booked somewhere else. For the price, the condition and the way we were treated were indefensible. This place isn’t worth the stress. Don’t stay here.

After dinner, my cousin went back to ask for an update and the story changed completely. The desk worker said we’d been offered a room when we first arrived and had declined it. That never happened. If one had been available, we would have taken it to store our things, just as we did when the room finally became available. My cousin said we’d arrived around 3:30 and were told both rooms were dirty. The worker accused him of lying and said, “I can see through you now, I was here at 3”. When he called the next day, they confirmed he’d been there a little before 3, since they checked in a couple at 2:53. She said her coworker wouldn’t lie, implying he was the liar. The interaction was uncomfortable and unprofessional. It seemed like the earlier worker had made up a story to make a refund impossible. We were told we couldn’t all stay in one room and wouldn’t be reimbursed for the room we were in, despite the delays and misinformation. Our options were to leave and pay for one room, or stay and pay for both, even though they weren’t ready on time. We never checked into the second room, so thankfully we weren’t charged for it. They told us to call the next day and hopefully the manager would be there to help. We ultimately left on principle. We don’t want to stay somewhere that lies to customers and gaslights them. The hotel’s cost isn’t worth its condition or the treatment we got. Other reviews make this seem like a common problem. We’re very dissatisfied and disappointed, and plan to call the bank to report fraud because other reviews describe similar refund issues. If you’re thinking of booking, take this as a cautionary tale and save yourself the time, stress, and headache by booking elsewhere. We arrived around 3 PM with a party of nine to ask about early check-in. The rooms weren’t clean, and we were asked to return after 4, which seemed fine. We spent time downtown, then came back around 5. The current worker said housekeeping still hadn’t started because the previous desk worker didn’t tell the next shift we’d arrived. She apologized and explained that two maids had been in an accident. We understood and waited another 30 minutes in the lobby. She helped clean one room, put music on the speaker for us, and eventually that room was ready. We were told the second would be ready soon. We were also told we could ask the third party we booked through for a refund. My cousin, who made the booking, spent a while going between the front desk and his bank. The desk said only a manager could give verbal approval, but the worker didn’t want to contact the manager because she was already “overwhelmed”. He pressed to sort it out because both rooms for one night cost him $700. She said she’d call with an update in an hour or so, but never did.

The power outage and flooding were clearly out of the hotel’s control, and I understood that they couldn’t host guests. I had a three-day reservation starting December 11th and was told on arrival that I’d get a full refund. But as of Monday, December 15th, this is still unresolved. My bank statement shows the charge, even though the hotel said I was never charged. Their website directs refund questions to email, which I tried, but my messages have gone unanswered. I also called the main office. The staff were uncooperative, wouldn’t let me speak with a manager, and gave me no useful help or information about the refund. The lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability after the outage has been extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Leavenworth. I’m still asking them to resolve this and refund the charged reservation.
