Mrs. Anderson's Lodging House

We did eventually get into our room, but only after our evening plans had to be rearranged and we nearly gave up and drove home 2.5 hours in the dark on icy roads. I hardly ever leave reviews, even after bad service, but this was awful enough that I hope it helps someone deciding whether to book. Never book here. It’s a scam. This place runs as a self check-in, like an Air BnB, with no one working at the property. We were supposed to check in at 4, but the room codes and instructions, which were meant to arrive by email that morning, never came. I emailed twice and called the contact number posted around the property eight times over the next five hours without a response. At 9 pm, we finally reached someone through an alternative 1-800 number that wasn't listed anywhere at the property. There was no apology. They said they'd email the instructions and hung up. I've since called twice about compensation for the five hours they took from us. This outsourced “customer service” company keeps saying they'll talk to management and call back, but they haven't. There's zero customer service. Whoever owns this place runs a terrible business and doesn't care about the people renting rooms. If you're considering somewhere else in Leavenworth, book there instead. Don't let Mrs. Anderson’s spoil your stay the way it spoiled ours.

Our Queen suite had a good amount of space, and the door to the back patio made it easy to get to the alley parking. I had a large truck and thought the spot might be a tight squeeze, but parking turned out fine. The shower was small but manageable. We only got two small bath towels and a wash cloth, so bring an extra towel. It's a charming spot in a great location for a very reasonable price. The amenities are minimal, but there's a lot of character. I'd stay again, with adjusted expectations. It's a good foundation, if that makes sense.

I’ve stayed here 4-5 times, and it’s become my first choice when I visit the area. The location is hard to beat, with everything within walking distance and a riverside park and trails nearby for walking the dog. The rooms are comfortable, the amenities are basic, parking is assigned, and my dog is welcome. I haven't personally had any trouble getting the door codes by email, though with no consistent staff on site, I can see how that might become an issue.

The location is nice, but our Christmas stay for two nights cost $1260 and was horrible. We stood outside the main door for three hours in the cold and rain, trying to call the number posted there. Nobody answered, and we were stranded. Apparently it's a self check-in hotel with a lock box, but they never emailed the check-in information. Three other guests at the property were dealing with the same problem. I didn't see any employees working during the busy weekend we were there. The rooms and bedding were just okay, and you'd be lucky to get hot water in the shower. Don't book here. There are much nicer hotels for less.
