Days Inn by Wyndham Englewood Dayton Airport

The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and I think we've found our place for our frequent trips back to Dayton. I was hesitant because I wanted to try the newer hotel down the road, but its reservation issue sent us to the Days Inn instead. It was a pleasant surprise. The walls looked freshly painted, and there was new carpet in the halls and rooms. The bathroom was clean and nice. The furniture looked tired, though not badly worn. Beds were moderately comfortable, and the linens were nice.

A sweet hotel kitty hangs around the entrance without going inside, a lovely bonus for pet lovers. The location is convenient, just off the highway, and breakfast was great. Our room had a big, nice bathroom, and the staff were friendly.

I rented a room two nights in a row, and both had problems with the light sockets coming loose and not working. In the first room, the tub was dirty and the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned well. In the second, there were pubic hairs around the floor and in the tub. The bathroom sink never got hot, and the shower was hot at night but not in the morning. There were food crumbs everywhere and dirty walls, so the cleaning needs to improve. One machine in the fitness room was broken, too. My second room was advertised at $66, but I was charged $77. They also didn't apply the 10% membership discount or recognize my membership name. The front desk wasn't helpful when I left this morning, and I asked for a manager. My phone charger wouldn't stay in the first room's loose socket, either.

Breakfast had eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, muffins, and plenty more. Sam and Jay were wonderful, and the night clerk was polite and made check-in easy. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the fridge, AC, and TV all worked well. The price was affordable, and I'd gladly stay again.
