Island House on The Beach

We spent a week in unit 4 on the second floor, facing the ocean. It’s a roomy, well-equipped apartment with comfortable beds and couches, and everything worked properly. The beach is just steps away, with lovely views from the windows, and restaurants and bars are walkable. There’s private parking, plus beach chairs, noodle floats, and umbrellas to use. A shared gas grill and outdoor dining tables are available too. The owner was quick to respond whenever we had questions or needed anything. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation.

Nina was a pleasure to coordinate with. She confirmed our reservation and sent all the details ahead of time, so we didn’t have questions or concerns. I was also happy to see Island House had fully recovered from the hurricanes last year. We spent three full days there for my son’s ninth birthday, in Unit 8 on the ground floor with a lovely ocean view. The apartment was clean, open-plan, and had a full kitchen with the basics. We picked up groceries at Publix on the way in and didn’t need to leave, thanks to the coffee maker, oven, stovetop, and outdoor gas grill. Remember to buy ice if you want cold drinks, since the fridge has no ice maker. There’s no garbage disposal either, so be mindful when cooking and cleaning up. The location was quiet and relaxing, away from the public beach crowds. We found lots of pretty shells and shark teeth, and saw a manatee about 20 feet offshore on two of our three days.

A clean place right on the beach, with its own area set up with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. It had everything we needed and was in a handy spot for getting around. We spent lovely days in the sun, just relaxing. I’d rent it again.
