Lemon Bay Motel

We only booked this Florida trip at the last minute over spring break, so there weren’t many choices. The beach was about a five-minute drive, which worked for us, and even after they adjusted the rate, it was still cheaper than other places. For one night it was okay, but the mattresses felt like hollow plastic and the walls were really thin. I barely slept, and we won’t stay here again.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and would come back. It’s a small hotel in a good spot, and the rooms have been clean and comfortable. There’s just a little fridge and a microwave. I asked for a broom to sweep up the sand, and they brought one.

We needed somewhere at short notice because the vacation rental we’d booked had been double-booked for the first night. Lemon Bay was near the rental, and we were glad to find it. The outside has that old Florida motel look, but our double queen room was clean and neat, with a lovely tiled bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and it stayed quiet even though it’s right by a major road.

For the price, this is a good deal, especially so close to the beach. The rooms are older, but they’ve been nicely renovated, and work was still going on while I was there. They installed new TVs this week, and people were working on things all the time. The front desk was easy to reach and answered promptly. Breakfast spots, a 7 Eleven, pizza, and other options are within walking distance.
