Comfort Inn, Erie - Near Presque Isle

Cleanliness matters most to us, and our room was very clean, including the bathroom and floor. They replace the linens every third day, which worked well for us. The elevators weren't working, but staff checked with us before assigning a second-floor room, and that was fine. Breakfast was hot, with waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a breakfast meat. We really enjoyed the stay and will probably return to the area hotel.

The property was clean, and breakfast was hot and ready on time. The first-floor bathroom was clean and stocked with the essentials. The general area was decent too, with Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, Applebee's, Taco Bell, and a gas station at the corner, plus a Walmart about nine minutes away. The elevator was broken when we arrived, though it was fixed the next day by a licensed elevator operator. In room 209, the shower leaked onto the phone, so we had to use all our towels to clean it up. The bathroom outlet didn't work, and neither did the room phone. When I called the front desk, the operator couldn't hear me.

The location was great, close to Presque Isle and a good Italian restaurant. The room was decent, but the carpet looked dirty and the air felt damp despite the AC cooling things down in the high humidity. There wasn't daily housekeeping, so we had to request fresh towels at the desk. Free breakfast had a decent selection and started early, which suited people heading out in the morning.

The front desk was attentive and helpful, and the location worked well, just a few minutes by car from most attractions and restaurants. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffle irons, cereal, and muffins. Rooms were clean and average in size, with a nice clean bathroom. The heated outdoor pool was open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. I'd stay again.
