The Loubird Inn

The porch was a lovely place to sit and read. We had a beautiful property with very clean, comfortable rooms, and a perfect location for our Escalante adventures.

Our room was quiet and had a cozy, home away from home feel. My wife thought the place was adorable, and we both enjoyed its ambience. The Loubird Inn is a great base for local outdoor activities and tucked-away slot canyon gems, and it’s close to Bryce Canyon NP while still far enough away. The owner and staff were easygoing and helpful, and check-in and checkout were simple to understand. Highly recommended!

Haylee keeps the cabins spotless, right down to the little details. They’re sweet, well equipped, and decorated with local art. We also loved the flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables they grow. We enjoyed their restaurant “Magnolia” down the street, named after one of their sweet daughters, so much that we added another night to our stay. Escalante itself was lovely, and staying at this little inn in the middle of town made the trip extra special. Thanks for making it such a sweet place to stay. Cherie

I loved the cozy Canyon room so much that I stayed longer than planned and got to Capitol Reef National Park an hour or two late. It was my favorite stop on a three-week road trip out west, and I wish I’d had time to curl up in bed even longer. Escalante won me over too. I joked to friends that if I ever went missing, they should look there first, probably in my room at the Loubird. The room is within about an hour of almost anything you might want to see in Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument, less than a mile from the restaurants in Escalante, UT, and right on UT Scenic Highway 12. Despite that, traffic was light enough that noise wasn’t an issue. Outside, there are grills and a hammock for reading, and the weather was amazing compared with the swampy East Coast heat I’m used to. I can imagine spending a week there to write a novel or hide from society, or even getting snowed into that tiny room. I want to return and stay longer, any time of year. It’s a long, out-of-the-way trip from the East Coast, but absolutely worth it.
