We found a surprisingly quiet little retreat for our 2-night stay while in town for a friend's wedding. The queen bed was incredibly comfortable, and our room came with a couch, strong shower pressure, and a balcony facing the pool. The pool, jacuzzi, and spas were lovely too. I was able to work by the pool all day from one of the cabanas. At night, the 4 cascading jacuzzis in a secluded spot nearby were especially relaxing. It's a great option for couples celebrating an anniversary or just hoping to unwind for a weekend.

The massive pine trees around the grounds are amazing. They even reuse the wood from a few they've cut down as stepping stones and garden pavers, which I think is brilliant. There are ponds, a stream or waterfall, and another pond. I like sitting there in the evenings to unwind. It feels peaceful and zen. It's a relaxed, beautiful place, a bit removed from downtown Escondido, which is part of the appeal. The staff are really friendly, and the rooms are great, even if a little dated. Mine has a balcony with an open view of a villa and golf course. They're far enough apart that there's no noise, and the view still feels lovely. There's also a sauna, though I haven't tried it because it's not really my thing, and they offer massages. There are hot tubs like the water features, but they're closed at the moment, so I haven't enjoyed them yet. If I do, I'll update this review.

The room was beautiful, with a clean floor, warm water, and an amazing view. The TV and cable both worked, and there was lots of storage. It got a little chilly, but there were extra blankets in the closet, presumably for the pull-out couch. The receptionist waited for my husband and me to arrive, and the staff were amazing. We only stayed one night and didn't get to use the pools, though they looked beautiful. I took these pictures as we were leaving, so the mess in them is ours.

The room had a lovely view and was very quiet, and the king bed was super comfortable. The owner and manager greeted us when we arrived and stayed friendly and accommodating throughout our two-night, three-day visit. With few other guests around, it was wonderfully relaxing. There were a few drawbacks: the shower had no power, the TV was old with no HDMI port for connecting my Macbook Pro to watch a movie, and there was no mini fridge. The room had been remodeled, as he mentioned, and was otherwise nice. We'd stay here again if we're back in Northern San Diego. Thanks for a nice weekend.

The new owners seem serious about improving the guest experience. The property is gorgeous and well cared for, with meticulously maintained grounds beside a beautiful golf course. It's close to the freeway yet feels tucked away, and I can imagine it working well for a lawn wedding or outdoor jazz festival. I saw two banquet rooms and met enthusiastic staff who were eager to tell me about the place. The pool was sparkling clean, and the soaking tub is unusual. I see big things ahead for Tuscan Hills Retreat!
