Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Philadelphia Airport

My two nights were very comfortable, and I slept so well I missed my flight because I didn’t even hear the alarm. 😂 I went back to my room and chilled for a bit, then headed to the airport again to catch the next available flight. The front desk was friendly and helpful, and the room was comfy, clean, and had everything I needed. I loved the shower, and I could iron and watch TV. Superb so far.

The mattress felt like sleeping on the floor, the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever had. All three rooms we were moved through had peeling bathtub paint, even though they looked cleaned. The hotel was advertised as smoke-free, but that wasn’t true. They changed our room twice while it was freezing outside, then said there were no more rooms. Since the booking was nonrefundable, we had to stay and put up with it. We won’t stay at this location again.

The front desk woman was kind and patient, and made check-in easy without rushing me. I booked at the last minute because I needed to be near the airport. The room wasn’t fancy, but it was clean enough and the bed was comfortable. It worked well as a place to sleep before traveling.

After months of dealing with broken showers, cold water, gas odors, and one instance of bed bugs, I finally filled out a survey describing the problems. When I arrived for a later reservation I’d made through Expedia, they told me I was blacklisted for giving them a bad survey. I’m Latino and felt discriminated against. Nobody had contacted me to try to resolve anything, and Lilo, the manager, doesn’t respond to issues. Expedia helped me in a way, but the risk of being left without a place to stay was a real concern. They replied to me on Expedia and said the attendant had offered to move me. He did, but I didn’t have time to change rooms. We tried the hot water, and it was only lukewarm, just warm enough for a shower, so I stayed put. It never got that warm again. The place is a total dump. I have pictures of broken things and filthy floors, plus bed bug photos I’m not going to show.
