Ponderosa is my favorite place to stay along Fall River. I've been twice for solo hiking trips and felt safe both times, which mattered a lot to me as a woman traveling alone. On my first visit, my car had some serious trouble, and the office staff helped me find local auto shops. They even followed up later to see how I was doing and whether the car was being worked on. The rooms are cozy and clean, right on the river, and only a short drive from an RMNP entrance. On my second stay, the new guest essentials room came in handy for ice, coffee refills, paper towels, and things like that. I'd recommend it whether you're traveling with family or on your own. I'll be back next time I'm in Estes!

We booked two nights on a whim and ended up really pleased. The room was clean and cozy, with comfortable beds and a handy kitchenette. We had a balcony overlooking the river, which was amazing. Even though we were near the road, we didn't hear traffic at all. We'd definitely recommend staying here.

The river view was beautiful, and we found Ponderosa Lodge comfortable, quiet, and cozy, even though it isn't especially fancy. We were beside a busy street but didn't hear traffic. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were extremely flat. There was no one there to check us in, but an envelope had all the instructions, and not seeing anyone at checkout was fine too. It was a wonderful stay, and I'd recommend it.

We had wildlife right outside our room each day, which we loved. The place has an enjoyable mountain feel without luxury prices, and it worked perfectly for our weekend. It's peaceful away from the crowds but still just a short drive from everything we wanted. We arrived during heavy snow, and the path and parking area had already been cleared. Great value for the location. We'll look for it again when we return.
