River Ridge Cottages

Cottage 2 was just right for the two of us, roomy enough for two adults but still cozy for the romantic break we wanted. We'd booked somewhere else at first for two nights in Estes Park before heading to Idaho Springs, but switched and were so glad we did. The cottages are adorable, close to town and the national park entrance. I'm from Florida and was a little worried when I learned there was no AC, but a fan was provided and we could open the windows. The weather was fantastic. The only letdown was that there wasn't an ice machine. After all our hiking, it would've been great to have ice at night. Otherwise, it was a perfect little getaway.

We booked cabin 6 at the last minute while on a road trip, and loved it so much we added a night. My husband and I were there for our anniversary, though the cabin could easily fit six people. It has two bedrooms, comfy beds, a living room, kitchen, and dining room. The cabin and scenery were beautiful, right by the river, and the covered porch looking out over it was awesome.

Our place was peaceful, lovely, and clean. Even though it was the unit closest to the road, it stayed quiet, and we'll be back the next time we're in Estes. The ceilings and shower head are low if you're tall. Luckily, we're not!

It's an old-fashioned place, but charming and cozy for a weekend in Estes. We found parking easily, the area felt safe, and it's close to town and Rocky Mountain Park. Service was quick and the staff friendly. There's no AC, as advertised, but nights get cold, so even my husband, who loves AC, slept well without it. Fans and a heater are provided in the closet. And the cleaning was amazing. There wasn't a speck of dust, and everything looked and felt spotless.
