We’re hoping to return soon. It’s easy to walk downtown, and the beds were comfortable. The heated pool is lovely, the food was excellent, and the room’s instant coffee with a nice kettle was much better than most hotel coffee. The lobby has a fun feel and a great bar. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and the location was good, but there were a lot of extras and limitations to deal with. No microwave in the room or main lobby, and the on-site restaurant has a very limited menu. There’s no complimentary breakfast either. The AC was tricky to use, and the room I had was called handicap accessible even though it wasn’t; the only ramp led to the main building. If booking online, watch for the additional $25/night amenities fee for things like using the pool and “getting smores.” It comes out of the $150 security deposit. Random detail: doves linger everywhere, and elk gather on the golf course right across from the hotel at all hours.

My stay itself was fine, but this place feels poorly run and overpriced, and I’ve spent almost a week trying to get money back without success. I booked a room for my elderly mother because they couldn’t get the heat working in the room I’d rented for her. They refunded one night, which was acceptable. The shower was clogged but fixed quickly; I also overheard another customer mention the same problem, which made me wonder if the showers are really being cleaned with water. Staff were friendly, but nobody seems to know what’s going on. I booked and paid a one-night deposit for each room on March 28. My emailed confirmation, which I had to call for four days later because it was never sent, showed a remaining balance of $447.62 per room after the $223.81 deposit. I checked out May 29 and was charged the full $671.43 per room, with no credit for the $223.81 already paid. Nearly $500 is still owed to me. The woman I spoke to on June 3 said I’d get a refund and confirmation email, but nothing arrived. On June 4, the man on the phone insisted the amount was right and got snippy. Apparently there was no manager until the next day. Nobody has returned my calls; I’ve called every day and received different answers. I just want the money that’s due to me.

Deer wandering around the property added to the peaceful Rocky Mountain feel, and the mountain views were breathtaking. Our room was spotless and smelled fresh, with comfortable beds, freshly laundered linens, and a large Smart TV. The whole property felt spacious, stylish, welcoming, and exceptionally clean from the moment we entered the lobby. Staff were attentive and friendly, and Derrick, the owner, was approachable, humble, and clearly proud of the lodge and its guests’ experience. His staff reflected that care. We stayed at Trailhead Lodge Rocky Mountains May 28-29 and were impressed throughout. Our small dogs were welcome, including on the patio, which made us feel at home. Breakfast ran from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, so mornings felt relaxed. The dining area had cushioned benches and decorative pillows along the windows, with a cozy atmosphere and lovely surroundings. There’s a full bar, and we received a complimentary drink on arrival. From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, guests can have a full s’mores setup, a fun touch. The food was fresh, flavorful, made to order, and better than we expected for the price. An on-site ATM was another useful convenience. It was one of our most enjoyable lodge stays in a long time. We’ll return and spread the word. For a clean, comfortable, pet-friendly mountain stay with good food, hospitality, and lovely views, we’d recommend it.
