Econo Lodge Eufaula South

For the price, it was decent. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They seem to be updating it, though the fresh paint had splattered all over the tiles. There was no advertised [unclear].

I slept on top of the covers because the bedding was so bad. The sheets didn't look washed, there were what looked like tobacco leaves under the blanket, and the pillows weren't clean. The bathroom had dead bugs, and one had even been painted over. Nasty. Never again.

We were only there for a few hours in room 217, which we finally made work after several problems. First we were put in room 213, where the bed was a mess, the trash was full, and it smelled like someone had used the room for a couple of hours and left. The next room, 105 downstairs, had a roach on the bed and dead bugs smashed on the wall. At the desk, the staff member gave me attitude, as if I were at fault for the filthy, poorly managed hotel. Room 215 had a double bed, but the plugs were bad and the TV wouldn't work. After more attitude, we got 217. No discount, and not even a simple apology. We will not be coming back.

We stayed one night while passing through on the way to our vacation. The room was fine for that, with a microwave, small refrigerator, Mr. Coffee single-brew machine, and a 50" TV. The bed was okay, somewhere in the middle, and the armchair was stained. The linens were clean and there were plenty of towels and washcloths. The young woman at the desk was nice when she gave us the key card, though other employees seemed evasive. It's an older hotel with no pool, and absolutely no coffee or breakfast. The room also had an odd odor.
