I’ve rarely dealt with a situation this ridiculous. The woman at check-in kept me there for over an hour and was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Her computer was down, so she said she couldn’t check me in, even though she could see the email showing I’d paid, look at the details on my phone, and speak with Priceline, who confirmed the payment. I asked if she could check me in the next morning so I could get some sleep. No. I offered to leave my card and driver’s license and come back to the office in the morning. Still no. There were several simple ways to help, but she seemed more interested in her phone than keeping a customer. The smallest bit of customer service would have solved it.

The room had a lot of problems: stained sheets, a toilet that barely flushed, a crack in the tub, and a shower curtain that didn’t fit the shower. The bathroom fan didn’t work either, and the heat was off when we arrived even though it was still winter. Breakfast was mostly snack foods and bagels. Edit: The room was 109 under DeAnn LePoidevin.

The bed gave us the best night’s sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel, and the front desk employee was friendly and helpful with us and the other guests. We stayed one night for a show at the Cuthbert Amphitheater, and spent plenty of time shopping in Eugene and Springfield too. They let us check in early mid-week in midsummer. The new EV charger was useful, since I charged my car before we drove back to Portland the next day. The price was good, and we’ll stay here again when we’re in town overnight.

The staff were so kind and accommodating, and the location made this work really well for us. Downtown is close, and coffee shops and the Saturday market are just a couple of minutes away on foot. Our room was clean, tidy, and practical. A couple of little issues, like loose outlets and shower knobs that leaked a bit, didn’t affect the stay much. The blue bathroom tile was a nice touch. For a casual inn, it was a great value in Eugene.

Dirty, noisy, rude, and with lots of damage. We were dealing with an emergency after a house fire and they charged us $200 on top of the room fee. Absolutely awful.
