Brackenridge Lodge

Cabin One at "The Woodsman Lodge" formerly "Breckenridge Lodge" had everything we needed to cook in, and it's close enough to Everything that dining out is easy, too. We loved the privacy and the back deck looking out over the woods. The hott tub was perfect, and the pool area had nice chairs and umbrellas for relaxing. There's also a grill area near the pool, where we spotted a black stone grill. The cabins are newly remodeled, the hosts were great and communicated well, and the location was perfect for us. Can't wait to book again. I won't stay anywhere else in Erueka.

Cabin #1 turned into one of our new favorite spots after our usual places filled up for Valentines Day. It was a great affordable stay, and we'll be back. I had trouble getting a feel for the room from the online pictures, so I'm sharing some photos in case they help. The holiday decorations were ours, since we like decorating rooms for holidays. We barely left the room all weekend, but there's plenty to do nearby around eureka. It's clean, in a great location, and the owners are friendly. A couple of tips from our experience: the WiFi wasn't strong enough to stream, so bring a DVD player and movies if you don't want regular TV. I called ahead and came prepared. The lighting is fluorescent, so bring extra lights if, like me, you prefer warm white. I take Christmas lights and rechargeable lamps everywhere.

The room was cute, with a chair, a nightstand and lamp, a queen bed, and a quilt that made it feel homey. There was a small fridge, microwave, full-size coffee maker on the bathroom counter, and a little nook for luggage and clothes. The mattress had springs and was okay to sleep on, not the best or worst, and I got decent sleep. The room felt exceptionally clean, probably the cleanest-feeling place I've stayed. It reminded me of my grandma's when I was young. Everything outside was clean and well kept, with handwritten signs clearly explaining things guests might need to know. I thought the signs were a neat touch that showed it was a small business. The main office felt like a living room with a checkout desk. It looked and smelled clean, and had a nice atmosphere. There was a retro cash register with number keys and a paper printer. I don't know whether it was used or just for show, since I paid by credit card on the computer beside it. The gentleman who checked us in was friendly and happy to give advice about seeing Eureka Springs. He also pointed out brochures for things to do around town. It was a nice place for an overnight stay. If I came back, I might try a cabin with a jacuzzi spa. Walking around downtown all day wears you out, and I wished I could soak my aching muscles in a big hot tub.

It felt secluded and peaceful, but the attractions were just a couple of minutes away by car. The view was beautiful, the place was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and parking was easy. I'd definitely return.
