Eureka Matterhorn Towers

Chris made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, greeting us with a big smile. When we checked out, we had a great conversation with him while waiting for our friends to pick us up. Swapping stories with him for half an hour was genuinely a highlight of the trip. We were there for two nights for a wedding in town. Even with the hotel fully booked, it stayed peaceful and quiet. The alpine theme outside was fun, and our room was no-frills but clean and comfortable, just what we wanted for the weekend. Walking to Main St wasn’t practical because there aren’t good sidewalks nearby, but getting a Lyft or Uber around town was easy. There seemed to be at least one driver around on weekends.

The owners are friendly and awesome, and the service was excellent. Great location and very dog friendly. The rooms and AC are a little dated and loud, and without blackout curtains it stays very bright at night.

We could slip back to the hotel for our toddler’s nap without going far from downtown, and also found a few Van Buren businesses we might’ve missed on the main strip. The hotel’s dated, but that didn’t affect cleanliness, safety, or comfort. It felt like a quirky, welcoming home away from home. The open-air halls, kind staff greeting us after our days out, and rocking chairs for watching the sun set through the Ozark trees with our room’s throw blanket all made the place feel right. At that price, we didn’t expect separate sleeping and living spaces in the room, but we got them.

Fresh flowers and plants made the place feel like home and gave it an authentic, welcoming, carefree vibe. The owners and staff put so much care into making the building feel homey, and their hospitality went above and beyond. It’s affordable, pet friendly, family friendly, and eclectic. We’ll absolutely recommend it to family and friends. Our air conditioner was inconsistent and we had to wake up at night to turn it back on. We didn’t mind enough to mention it to the staff.
