Stonegate Lodge

I paid almost twice what I would elsewhere in the area, expecting a different experience because there was a heated saltwater pool open in April. But the pool wasn’t heated. The beds were hard, there was no soap, and nothing else really set the place apart. They shut off the fireplace at 10 every night, even on event weekends, including one of the area’s biggest. When storms came through, they also asked me not to park my bike under the awning, even though nobody was using it. For the price, I wasn’t impressed.

I checked in the day before yesterday and had been asleep most of the time because I wasn’t feeling well. A huge snowstorm came through, just as Weather Channel had predicted the last time I checked several days earlier. I’d never seen so much snow in Arkansas. My car sits low and has low profile tires, so it wasn’t fit for driving in bad weather, especially this. I called Stonegate Lodge to ask what I should do if I couldn’t leave because of the conditions. The woman who answered was so rude that I cried after the call. She told me, “I guess you should book a room for another night then.” When I said I couldn’t afford another night, she said she couldn’t help that, it had nothing to do with her, and there was nothing she could do. She also said she couldn’t help that I was stuck without extra money to book another night. I read on the website after booking that I should try to resolve an issue with someone before leaving a bad review. I don’t know what to do at this point.

The oatmeal was better than I expected, and the coffee was great. I had a great night here, in room 107 on 12/6. It was very clean and very quiet, though quiet isn’t a big deal to me. I also really liked the local(ish) water. Everything came together to make me want to visit again.

The room was comfortable and quiet, and we had a very nice stay. The tub was slippery, so grab bars would help with getting in and out, though it was manageable. We also couldn’t stay connected to Wi-Fi. That wasn’t a huge issue, but it would’ve been nice. Thank you!
