We stayed in Dandelion over New Year’s after a last-minute decision to get away without traveling too far. We live in northwest Arkansas and have visited Eureka many times, but had never stayed at Lake Lucerne cabins before. It took about an hour to get there, and it was a peaceful place to reset for the new year. The lake views from the kitchen, both bedrooms, and patio were lovely. We met some of the staff and the owner, who were incredibly welcoming. The alpacas on the property were adorable, and there are great walks around the lake and across the grounds. It’s also very close to Turpentine Creek Rescue, which you should visit if you haven’t been. We had a wonderful, restful stay and will definitely be back.

Lake Lucerne was a quiet place away from the busier roads, and I was glad we chose it. While we were exploring Eureka Springs, many of the inns, B&Bs, cabins, and lodges we saw were unappealing or on busy roads. The Bayberry cottage itself was comfortable, with only a few small issues. The master bedroom got very bright early in the morning even with the curtains, so bring an eye mask. The word “resort” didn’t quite match what I expected from a place with a variety of amenities. The boats weren’t ready to rent, which I’d hoped to do. Maybe the name reflects its 20th-century past, when it was a much busier place with more to do. The history binder is really interesting. These days it’s mainly for quiet rest and relaxation, which may be exactly what guests are after. The ranch has alpacas, llamas, a huge turkey, and a donkey or mule. You can watch them at the fence, walk a couple of trails, and I saw people fishing. I especially appreciated one employee’s help when I got splinters. She went out of her way to bring me what I needed to remove them.

We stayed in the Kingfisher cabin over Valentine’s weekend and loved it. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. I especially liked the wood fireplace and all the little antique details in the decor. We’d definitely stay there again.

The cabins are close together, so the setting felt more like a campground with houses than a secluded retreat. The lake view from the Dandelion Cabin porch was partly blocked by foliage, and the fireplace was closed for the season. We didn’t use the kitchen and got takeout instead. The virtual assistant handled our needs efficiently, though there wasn’t onsite staff. The access road was rough, and a truck or SUV would be better than a car. For the price, the quality and experience didn’t quite add up, so we don’t plan to return. We stayed recently at Lake Lucerne Resort and Ranch in Eureka Springs. The cabin had a quaint, inviting feel from the moment we arrived, with rustic decor and cozy furnishings that made us feel at home. Even without using the fireplace, we had what we needed for a pleasant, peaceful stay.

We were so glad we picked Lake Lucerne for our stay. The ranch was peaceful to come back to after exploring the area, and the Clovertree cottage felt warm and cozy. Antique pieces added a lot to the atmosphere. There was comfortable seating throughout, and the kitchen had everything we needed for simple vacation meals. The deck was lovely in the morning, with birds to watch and listen to.
