Americas Best Inn - Eureka

The staff were nice, but everything else felt dirty and some things seemed poorly done. I had ants crawling on me all night. Definitely not a place for anyone who’s particular about cleanliness. Yikes.

The carpet in our bedroom was disgusting when we arrived. There were also bugs, maybe cockroaches, in the bathroom and air conditioner. A few staff members were nice, others weren’t. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The bathroom had been patched up, the sink was cracked and had no stopper, and the plug-ins were dusty. There were extension cords everywhere because outlets were scarce, which seemed like a fire hazard. The handrail also had signs of birds roosting there. We stopped around midnight during a trip, and our door key wouldn’t work. The staff member’s key didn’t work either, so we were moved to another room. I pulled back the bedding on one bed and found an unwashed sheet and a pillow that looked like someone had drooled chocolate on it. Nasty. My husband had worked nine hours, packed the car, and driven six hours, so I didn’t wake him. I just climbed in beside him and tried to sleep. Don’t even consider stopping here.

We were getting ready for bed in room 125 when we found bed bugs in both beds. I told the front desk, but they didn’t even want to come up and check for themselves.
