There were ants throughout the carpet in the whole room, and the bathroom had no toilet paper, either on the dispenser or anywhere else. They now charge for parking despite having no security to justify it, even though there was a break-in two weeks ago. This is easily the worst Hilton I’ve stayed at. I’ve ended up here plenty of times over the years, without a choice, but I’d sleep in my truck before coming back.

When we arrived, three young men were outside in the parking lot using recreational cannabis near the room we’d soon be checking into. The smell was strong out there, though we didn’t notice it inside our room. At checkout, we were charged $200 for smoking or vaping in the room, neither of which we do. I can only guess the sensors picked something up from the cannabis gathering in the parking lot.

I’d had a smooth, comfortable stay for eight days, so waking up to find three of the five-gallon industrial gas cans missing from the back of my truck was a shock. The property also has no CCTV coverage, which seems like a serious gap for a business that promotes guest safety. I’m on the road more than 300 days a year and manage teams of 5-6 crew members on projects around the country, so I’ve seen well-run hotels. It’s a shame this place has potential but misses something as basic as security.

Everything had been fine until breakfast. The breakfast attendant was rude and seemed to have an attitude about everything. She didn’t put out more milk for the cereal, so my kids had to eat it dry, and there was no juice with our food. I got so frustrated that I couldn’t eat and had to go sit in my car to get away from the situation. That worker needs a reality check.
