I expected a dump because the price was so low, but the lobby was spotless, smelled lovely, and had the friendliest staff I’ve come across. I was really pleasantly surprised. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in Everett from now on.

My cousin and his wife booked three nights because of a family emergency and the nearby services. Their room wasn’t clean or newly remodeled, and the staff experience started badly and got worse. When I went to take them to dinner on the first night, someone from the office chased me down aggressively, demanded my ID, and said a visit over ten minutes would cost them $20. They had other problems as well. Spend another thirty dollars for a much better room.

The rooms aren’t in condition to justify a deposit, and they seem far from up to code: no smoke detectors, no window screens, and no courtesy phone. The towels feel hazardous, and apparently you’re charged for using them. On top of that, Sarah, who they call the owner, knocks at sunrise asking for rent. Any visitor, even a pizza delivery person, gets hassled for ID, and if they stay more than eight minutes, Sarah at the front desk charges the room $20 per person. I’ve never had this level of disrespect or invasion of privacy at a motel or hotel.

I was traveling for work by myself, but the older Asian couple who said they owned the place kept knocking every 15 to 30 minutes to ask if anyone else was in my room. They even came in forcefully to check, and continued knocking so often after seeing I was alone. It was scary and awful. The room was filthy, though I’d already lowered my expectations when I saw the property. I honestly don’t know how this place is allowed to stay open.

I’m still waiting for Sarah to work this out. I heard her tell a guest that my Tribe brought it here for me. The amount must be pretty large, since it drew curiosity. God, it was for a new list of things I lost. I hope they can replace everything my family brought.
