Holiday Inn Express & Suites Everett

I arrived Saturday evening, January 17, and the very tall man checking me in handled a chaotic rush of guests calmly and professionally, even stepping away to help someone else. He was freaking awesome. If I lived nearby, I’d recruit him for my company. The room and shower were great, and the elevator worked fine. My only gripe: when I returned from seeing friends at midnight, all the diamond elite parking spaces were taken. First-world problem, lol. I’m back in the area pretty much monthly and will definitely stay here again.

They ran multiple transactions on my account, over drafting it, and charged me again days after saying they would fix it. They wouldn’t give the money back, so I had to sort it out with the bank, which did resolve it. Very unprofessional, and I don’t recommend the hotel. There was a strong smell of bleach and chlorine all the way down the hall and in our room. The pool and hot tub were not sanitary or safe. My husband was fine before using them, but about three days later he developed E. coli and another bacterial infection, went into septic shock, and died. I believe this could have been prevented, and I blame the hotel’s unsafe pool and hot tub. He wanted to make our anniversary special. My daughter, our animals, and I are devastated, and I’m lost about what to do. We lost our home, and the cremation and other expenses used up what we had. I’ve set up a GoFundMe but haven’t received many donations. I’d be grateful if anyone could donate or help spread it. Please stay safe and don’t go here.

Only reason I’m giving one star is that the staff on site were pleasant to deal with. I asked for a partial refund because I couldn’t use the one thing I’d really wanted, the jetted tub, and management denied it. I won’t return. Avoid the jetted tub rooms. There was live black mold growing around the jets, and it looked like it had been there a long time. They don’t even wipe it down. I brought it up with management, though I doubt they’ll fix it. There’s mold in the pool too. Seeing that makes me wary of the free breakfast. If they don’t clean those areas, what’s to stop them from not cleaning where the food is?

The breakfast had a good range of hot and cold options, and there’s a pool and hot tub too. Check-in and checkout were both easy, and we got a warm welcome when we arrived. The place was clean, though some areas like the carpet could use a refresh. We had a good stay at this Holiday Inn.
