The little store has useful basics at reasonable prices, and there’s free laundry and an airport shuttle too. I liked having a full fridge and microwave in the kitchenette, plus nearby Costco and Walmart. They even check your ID when packages arrive. The place was clean, the staff were helpful, and the coffee in the main area was free and pretty good. My car could be plugged in to keep it from freezing, the water was hot, and the cold tap water tasted good. There were lots of pillows to choose from, including firm ones, and the shower had enough pressure to wash my hair. They provide full-size Dove bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap, and body wash. 10/10, I’d stay here again.

Getting around was easy from here: most tours pick up nearby, the airport is a straightforward drive, and there’s a gas station right next door. Fast food is only a short walk away too.

The room was clean and had a fully equipped kitchen, and Candlewood sits in a quiet spot close to the highway, a large market, and a gas station. We ran into trouble and Nina, Olivia, and Abigail at the front desk quickly helped us contact a towing company. They were so friendly, and as someone who doesn’t speak English, I really appreciated their help. I’d recommend the place.

We stayed four nights and found the room clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable, with at least two pillows firm enough for a good night’s sleep. Check-in was quick and professional, and the staff we passed were welcoming and friendly. The location worked well for our planned activities. The main drawback was that there wasn’t a proper breakfast.

For a 2-star hotel, the value earned five stars from me. The room was spacious and clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and knew their stuff. Free hot drinks, laundry (bring or buy detergent), and plenty of parking were handy. The complimentary shuttle served both Fairbanks Depot train station and the Fairbanks airport, which was especially useful at night and in snowy weather. I had no problems during my stay and would highly recommend it.
