The room kept warm even with below-zero temperatures outside, and the shower was hot. Our fifth-floor room looked south toward the Alaska Range. There’s a good-sized workout room with about four treadmills, and the staff were friendly. The complimentary breakfast spread was fabulous, with hot coffee, eggs, and sausage sandwiches. The location is perfect, near good restaurants and pleasant river walks, even in February. The free airport shuttle arrived promptly after our 3 a.m. arrival. It exceeded our expectations and is now our first choice for winter trips to Fairbanks.

Right in the middle of fairbanks, with lots of dinner spots nearby. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating, and the shuttle drivers are great. The rooms are a little noisy, though, you can hear other guests showering and things like that.

We only spent one night here on our way to the base camp, checking in at 2 a.m. The staff were friendly even at that hour. The room was clean, very dark and quiet for sleeping, with comfortable beds and a good temperature. The pillows were okay. It looked either very well maintained or recently remodeled. We checked out at noon, but our ride wasn’t due until about 2:30, so we went wandering in the -7 weather to get lunch. The staff stored our bags, and we waited in the comfortable lounge with a TV, watching the NFL playoffs until our ride arrived. The hotel has a pool and gym that looked clean, though we didn’t use either. Absolutely recommend it.

Clean, popular, busy hotel, close to all the tourist spots downtown. There are a lot of homeless people outside the hotel area, so lock your car and don’t leave valuables inside. Park where the security camera can see it.

The room had plenty of space and stayed warm, and breakfast was a generous buffet. The little store was handy for snacks, drinks, and souvenirs, while the free shuttle ran every hour, day and night, to the airport and back. Great spot downtown by the Chena river. I was sorry to learn Lavelle's, the attached restaurant and bar, is permanently closed.
