Red Roof Inn Dayton - Fairborn/ Nutter Center

I stayed for a week and had no problems with the room. It was clean, and whenever we needed fresh towels or sheets, the staff got them for us quickly. Everyone was respectful, and the whole crew was outstanding. Shelly especially deserves a shoutout. She’s unforgettable, works hard, takes her job seriously, and makes sure you get your money’s worth and the stay you deserve. You can tell how much she cares. This Red Roof gave me a good experience, and I’ll be back soon. Thanks, Shelly and everyone!

For $70, it’s a place to sleep across from the nutter center, and the size made the price feel fair. It’s also conveniently beside a Speedway parking lot. But the mattress sank to the springs on one side, and the room wasn’t cleaned well. There were ashes in the bedside dresser drawer and string in the drawers under the TV. My room cards were deactivated at 9 a.m., before the 11 a.m. checkout. Luckily, my boyfriend was still inside and let me back in after I went out for coffee. There was a coffee maker in the room but no cups, though maybe they’d just forgotten them. Stay at your own risk.

After driving more than 22 hours home from a trip, we arrived at 2:50 a.m. for our one-night stay booked through Expedia. The online listing said check-in ran from 3 p.m. until 6 a.m., but our booking had been canceled because we hadn’t arrived by midnight. The woman at the desk was rude and no help. We drove the extra four and a half hours home instead. Thankfully, Expedia checked the details and made sure we weren’t charged for the cancellation. If you’re planning to arrive after midnight, call first, since they don’t seem to follow their own policy. They need to change the policy or clearly state that check-in is by midnight.

We chose this place mainly because it was close to Wayne State University. The mattress and pillows were quite comfortable, and the room was clean. The bed frame was the one downside, it was a real shin-getter. The photo was taken as we were leaving.
