The Western Inn Motel and RV Park

There's sadly a rumor that this place will be demolished for a new Circle K, along with the Family Dollar, RV park, food establishments, and hotel. Please come visit and stay in Fairplay soon, especially before summer begins.

We spent only about eight hours in room 43, staying one night, and found a bed bug crawling on the wall as we were checking out in the morning. Our friend had several bites on his back. Now, instead of a relaxing weekend, we have to take precautions so they don't get into our homes, including throwing away anything that can't be machine-washed or dried. Other reviews report the same problem, and the motel doesn't seem to be doing anything or warning guests. Don't stay here unless you want bed bugs.

As we were getting ready to leave after the weekend, we spotted a huge bed bug on the wall. I checked myself and counted close to 100 bites. Other people have reported the same thing, so it seems ownership doesn't care. Don't stay here unless you want bed bugs.

I was nervous after reading the reviews, but the motel turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The room was quiet, clean, and really spacious, with fresh linens and towels and a comfortable bed. We could keep our dinner in the refrigerator and heat it in the microwave. It had everything we needed before an early hike the next morning. I'd stay here again.
